I am so excited to go to Spain. I’ve been in Europe for a week now and am in love with everywhere I’ve stayed. I know Spain is going to be just as good, possibly even better, than all the places I’ve been so far. I am excited to speak with all the natives in their native language. I know I’m going to be able to learn so much Spanish. I was in France for 3 days and learned how to say a number of key phrases and count to ten, all that from simply walking around and talking to people. I know that with classes, living with the host family and site seeing I’ll pick up more Spanish then I can imagine. I think I’ll have a little trouble with the host family at first. I can be really shy around strangers. Especially, when around strangers I’ll be living with and have a language barrier. I am so excited to learn another language though. I have meet many people in Europe that think “only” knowing 3 languages is not big deal and are surprised when I tell them that I pretty much can only speak English. From this experience as a whole I really want to come away speaking Spanish fluently, but also, put it simply, to experience something not American.
